We go South for 2 or 3 months. We go to SC where it is off-season in winter. same is true in Georgia. But not in Fla. Anywhere from Wilmington NC south to Florida border should have dead cheap winter rentals. But if you want to buy, best to stay away from resorts and choose a smaller town or a suburb away from beaches.

Temperatures are in the 50-70 range from mid January to mid April which is our target period.

I plan to move to Ecuador in five years.So much cheaper,you can buy good medical insurance for $150. a couple.Living expenses for home,and utilities starting at $400. I will not stay here and be forced to eat Dog and Cat food.I have seen elderly, do this in Los Angeles.

Haven't done that much, mainly because our smallish GLK is kind of packed, even with a roof box. One of these days, I should pick up a set of rust free trailing arms for the 300D. But so far my suspect ones are holding up (that reminds me, should inspect them before winter sets in!)
