You've successfully made the truck even more rollover prone and less fuel efficient....

When I see a truck like that I just think "compensating..."

Hatterasguy 03-20-2013 10:28 PM

Someone has to compensate for all those hybrids out their!

Ok, I'm guessing that the headlight filament is about 6" higher than the highest point of the front fender wheel openings, which appear to be about 10" higher than the top of the front tire, which apparently has a 38" height.

Let's see: 6 + 10 + 38...carry the three...divide by the square root....I'm thinking that he is right there at the max height...if he's lucky...

None of them make much sense and all can be considered ridiculous when fuel is $4.00............so, if you're going to be ridiculous, you might as well get the largest tires that you can find.

Personally, I don't understand what the attraction might be.............if you want the height, just buy a 10 wheel tractor and drive it around without the trailer. Probably get about the same fuel economy..........maybe 10 mpg.

Because I can.... ;)

And because the truck becomes pointlessly huge with tires like that. Fuel mileage has dropped slightly - been about 2mpg less with 38s instead of 35s.

And don't know what ridiculous is... My E55 was way less practical.. It sat wayyyy tooo low, got worse fuel mileage, wasn't as comfy, and was more expensive to fix! :)

air those bad boys down to about 4 psi and take it into the woods!

Hell yeah. I got tired of bending wheels, low profile tires that popped when you hit a pothole, scraping over speedbumps, eating $1300 catalytic converters, $110 oil pans, $50 transmission pans, bumpers, side skirts, fenders, etc.

Yeah, I can't quite hit the apex of my favorite turn at 130 anymore, but then again, I shouldn't have been doing that in the first place. :)

And soon. Getting an air compressor mounted in my rig, then will be taking it up to sand mountain for some fun!

What is the max allowable bumper/headlight height in Cali?

It isn't that horrible to get in and out of... :P;)

Well, maybe it is... :)

Well, my headlight filament sits ~68" off the ground.

More roll over prone? I widened the stance of my truck ~6 inches... Feels more stable at more extreme angles! Slightly less fuel efficient, but hey - it still does better than my E55 did!

Compensating - hey the same thing could be said about those who drive an MB! ;)

Honestly, you'd do a whole lot better if you got rid of that half-assed moustache and beard. You'd really have an intense look.

Seriously.

The short one?

davidmash 03-22-2013 10:38 AM

My only issue is bumper height. I want to see regulations in place that require all bumpers be at the same height (give or take a few inches). I got rear ended by some kid in a lifted SUV and his bumper cleared mine. He did not even scratch mine and his truck was not nearly as high as iwrocks.
