Did GM even build the thing? I thought it was a custom car-like body on a GM utility/pickup truck chassis.

Last I checked it was built on a topkick chassis, estimated to weigh 8 tons, and I could have swore it was diesel

The article even says that they mistakenly put gasoline in it. I wonder, if you get fired from the presidential detail while on an overseas trip, do they still let you ride home with them, or are you own your own for airfair?

CNN reported the limo suffered a case of auto indigestion because a driver filled it up with gasoline instead of diesel.
D'oh!

At least they bring several limos along as backup.

This is almost as bad as when it got stuck on a speedbump (in Ireland?? Can't remember). Seems like this presidential limo is taking some pretty hard knocks!

Also, can you imagine being the guy who needs to fill that up?

Now, does the presidential limo just pull up to a fuel pump at the local Quick-Stop? I just figured they'd refuel at a military base or some other secure location. It's somewhat surprising to see that they'd have to load it up on a flatbed and bring it from wherever it was fueled up to wherever it's going to be repaired.

I have a hard time believing that is not a doctored photo. I have a hard time believing we'd alllow anybody but our own people tow it.

There aren't alot of pics online but there are a few. It's interesting to see the number of articles stating that it was disabled as a result of filling it with diesel fuel rather than putting gas into a diesel vehicle. If it's online, it must be true!

Someone must have gotten too used to the color coded handles....
Green is not always diesel....

For a small fee, I would have flown over to bleed and reprime the system.
I got's experience!

Likely it was towed right to a base for shipment back to US. Doubt they would let the pres ride in it now.

Unless we just leave the keys in the ignition, title on the dash, and write it off...

I would not think they would want anybody to be able to look it over closely.

That was the last generation. The new one has a higher ground clearance and a Bump detection system
