Secret Service weaponary...
Secret Service Weaponry! - YouTube
I hope one day to be able to afford to play in the full auto NFA world. MP5 $20k P90 ...$50k++? AR15 with sear $12k+ (I know where one of 2 Steyr Aug's that are legal in the US, ie full auto, full barrel set is for sale for $105k) All the fun = priceless. I think doing a themed day at the range would be fun. I need to buy the right car...hmm blacked out Audi A8 with my buddy's G wagon. Rock suites, shoulder holster HK USP's, and maybe a couple shorty AR's. Themed days are always fun. WW2 day, modern battle rifle day, German day, Swiss day, etc.

Yeah I figured you guys would like the W123, looks well totaled and he even removed some good parts before lighting it up.
Full auto isn't cheap. Only thing more expensive is tank or artillery collecting, err well plane collecting I know their are a few Mig's and at least one Hind flying around.

Really, twenty thousand dollar bills for a fully automatic weapon? That's just stupid.

Meh its a fun toy, and a fairly sound investment; they tend not to go down in value.

Wish I had $20k to piss away on a gun and have fun finding ammo for it.

Am I correct that they're only $20k because of artificial scarcity caused by the 1986 ban?

You can get an Uzi for $10k or less, ditto a Sten. A Thompson will be 20, and any belt fed would be 20+. A nice BAR is big bucks too. I am looking at getting a MP40, those are in the 10-12 range. But finding 9mm ammo was under a buck a round is tough.

You can buy a running BMP or BRDM for only 25K + 3 k delivery to the coast. If I had more money it would be my snow and tow vehicle (BRDM)

The very few semi auto mp5's are getting that. 20k is a very low number wild ass guess says that a legal full auto mp5 may get well into the 50/75k range. The mp5 is the mb gull wing of the of the gun world.

When I was doing the mating dance with USNR (had been off active duty as a BT3 for several years) they took me to the range to shoot full auto weapons (my primary job was to be EA2, which meant using a range finder in a mortar squad as my combat duty -- wtf? Seabees are weird). So I got to shoot some neat guns. This was in the mid-1970's so I guess the MP-5's weren't around. What was really cool was that the USAF supplied weapons from their armory for the Seabees. Which meant they loaded the clips and belts and cleaned the weapons afterward. The old fart WWII veteran Seabees didn't want to shoot (they didn't do prone...) so us kids got to shoot the shyte out of everything! Almost got me to go into active reserves. But I had this moment of self-reflection and clarity -- I ain't raw material for a good (soldier, airman, sailor or Marine). I liked the toys and the duty, I didn't like being in the military. It takes a special kind of person for that -- not me.
But I got to shoot some neat small arms! |
