Couple crash newly bought Lambo and then run

Couple abandons $220,000 Lamborghini at crash hours after buying | Motoramic - Yahoo! Autos

Witnesses saw them running from the wreck. Maybe they thought it would blow, who knows but seems odd. Almost as if they'd stolen it.

. . . another hard-won diploma from Lamborghini driving school.

Why would it be hit and run?

For one reason or another, they didn't want any face time with law enforcement:rolleyes:

haha I was just about to quote the same line.

I have witnessed this exact scenario in person

While Ferrari owners have been known to put their cars into walls, trees and other cars . . . I've always admired their product allocation method to try to minimize having their new models show up on Wrecked Exotic Cars - Pictures of Expensive Car Crashes and Wrecks ;)

They were probably drunk and didn't want a DUI.

Now their insurance can pay for it, their attorney can fix it, and they can be in another Lambo next Friday.

and if you thought the insurance premium on the first car was high . . .

They will insure anything for the right amount...:D

Not sure why they declared it totaled. All I can figure is perhaps there's some major damage to suspension or steering components that isn't visible in the photos.

If they were drunk, Jeez, F 'em, spending that kind of money and driving impaired on their maiden voyage? Fools and their money . . .

I'm sure I'd get a kick out of driving one of those on a track but I've gotten over my desire to have one. I've read too many stories about having to pull the engine to do this or that routine bit of maintenance. And not sure I need to be that close to the road, the same road shared by semis and monster 4 wheel drive pickups anyway.

Hatterasguy 03-22-2013 06:15 PM

Meh Lambo isn't my kind of car but I'm buying a Ferrari as soon as I can afford one. I have wanted a 355 since I was 10.

Cause they are nice.

cmac2012 03-22-2013 10:50 PM

Nah Hat, steer clear. Isn't that the type where you need to pull the engine to do most any work on it?

I'd go for the 330GTC. Classic lines, sits a bit higher off the road, engine up front. Pure class. Yves Montand drove up in one in the movie Grand Prix. Sorry about the big pic - hit ctrl - a few times.
