More Apple censorship

Could it be that a game about sweatshops hit a little too close to home?

Sweatshop HD is the latest victim in Apple's war on serious games | Sweatshop HD news | iPad | Pocket Gamer

Those who criticized Jobs as pioneering computing as a jail were exactly right, even if the jail is one of those super-comfy Scandinavian prisons :)

Censorship? Yes and for good reason.

How would you feel about a game where the goal is to get as many Jews into ovens as possible?

If it were put out in 1939 to draw attention to the Holocaust, I'd be all for it. Sometimes shock, horror, and gallows humor work to draw attention to a problem when the mainstream media doesn't (as it didn't in Germany in 1939-41).

Speaking of gallows humor: I'd prefer a game that involves lethally injecting hundreds of celebrity pancreatic cancer patients. 10 points if you hit the heart, 5 points for the head, 3 points for the torso, 1 point for any limb. Call it "Kevorkian's Last Jobs." (or Jabs)

Somebody here seemingly loves holding on to a grudge, even when that person has passed. Says a lot, no?

Considering his legacy of "mobile computing as a Disney-like prison" is still with us and spreading, pity he didn't leave the building earlier.

I hope your parents are dead and not breading more like you. Sorry, just trying to get down to your level.

I take pity on people like you.

Nope, still very much alive last I checked. Thanks for the kind wishes though :) And I mean, if we're gonna be offensive, why is Steve Jobs a sacred cow here?

The only one imply that Steve Jobs is a sacred cow would be you. No one else here implied or made such a claim. But your disrespect for any life is disturbing and disgusting.

Because Apple has a lot of respect for life itself. They also blocked a (non-offensive) app designed to call attention to drone strikes last year. You know, the American attacks that kill 10+ people for every "enemy" that they get:

Even more censorship, this time involving environmental causes:

Fawk Apple.

Meh, don't care.

I'm going to go and buy an Imac because of this thread! :D

iMacs aren't app-locked, nor are Macbooks, and they're unlikely to become so in the next few years because of the existing ecosystem of apps distributed through many channels.

I actually like Apple's desktop hardware. You should buy some since I bought some Apple stock when it was down in the 420's, and am now waiting to flip it once it hits 470-480 or so. (Another 10 points, baby, may as well make money off all the dumbfawk lemmings like you who buy iOS crapware!)

To those who think this is hypocritical -- it's the same thing as buying houses in parts of NJ where I have no earthly desire to live. But if they can rent at the right price, who gives a flying fawk where they are?

Hatterasguy 03-22-2013 06:38 PM

I don't care I'm not a computer guy I just want it to work and to have a good warranty.

Apple provides a premium product for none computer people like me with fantastic warranty and customer support options. I don't give a crap about anything else they do.

I need an Ipad and might as well throw in a new Iphone while I'm their!:D

Any idea how I can run a set of Logitech surround sound speakers off of a tricked out 27in Imac?

Android works better -- it actually allows a user to install ALL apps, not just those that Google's censors deem acceptable. And you have a choice of devices, ranging from reasonably-priced to overpriced like Apple.

But hey, if technophobes like you and wannabe hipsters keep buying, then it drives Apple stock up. Maybe I'll wait to sell till it hits 550.
