Just what I need, or not.

Been coveting this for some time and the MIL finally said come and get it. Needs some TLC but getting it down here will be half the battle. I have a good tractor guy. Perfect size for dragging my pens and loafing areas. The 1520 is a Japanese 3 cyl diesel. Made 87-98. Hasn't been used in years, I sure hope the injection pump's OK.

I had to read the beginning of the second line twice before I read it right. The thought of having to have a large tractor like this to drag your penis around is funny, now that I know I read wrong the first two times.

Enjoy the tractor!

I doubt that there will be any problem with the pump.

That was one of the models that started moving some of their small tractor production out of the UK. I expect that it will be a very good machine for you. It predates the CNH merger by quite a bit.

This is exactly how rumors get started!

My concern with the pump is only because it's been sitting outside for so long. Maybe that's not a factor. My old gas Farmall is a great machine but way too big for tight space manure management and there aren't any donkeys (read "children") around any more. Thanks for the info!

Me, too.

After all, everyone "needs" a project.

Seriously, good luck with it.

Those were made by Shibauru in Japan. The company also used to supply some hand-held products for Stihl. Great products.

Diesel fuel is nothing but light oil. You might have fungus in the fuel, but it probably won't be too tough to take care of it. It would be a good idea to put on in a can of Biogard. I bet you will have it running in no time.

Keep us posted.

Nice find, El.

I have inherited a Ford Golden Jubilee. It's a gasser but runs smooth and steady despite being almost as old as me.

Also have a Farmall Cub. It's great for the garden except when I need to pull a disk. I'd like to get the manuals for the tractors. First thing I did was clean the Ford. It had dust and oil caked into an almost asphalt-like substance on the engine and transmission. The hydraulics are tight and reliable.

I think it was somebody on here (maybe you!) who pointed me to a small tractor discussion board. It has some very helpful folks.

The Jubilee is a really sweet machine. An elderly neighbor and close friend of mine that passed away a number of years ago bought one new. from '53 until '66 he farmed up to 350 acres pulling two row equipment with it. This was quite a feat. He said he did a lot of plowing at night. He had heart trouble in '66 and had to stop farming. The tractor was still in great shape when I moved out here in '86. An amazing little machine. His was on propane.

My Farmall is an H, and it's older than I am. An uncle bought it new in '50. Still in decent condition but they grew some row crops back then and alfalfa so it made sense. Now it's a beast in tight spots and the narrow front wheels don't like uneven ground one little bit. I had a John Deere 300 but it crapped out, Kohler no longer supports it's motor and it was a bit undersized. This ford has a disk harrow and I already have class 1 box scraper and a nice blade so I should be all set. I might have mentioned the small tractor forum at mytractorforum.com. They're a nice and helpful bunch.
