If I saw that on the street, then I'd have to agree w/you Cap'n. But DTM cars have always looked like this to my knowledge. The association is unfortunate however....
Regards, - Ryan, an anti-rice - pro-DTM fan (is that conflicted or what?)

Not ricey at all!! I love the improved look. This baby comes with a V-8 @ 470 hp. Should give competitions a run for the money this season. No rice rocket out can achieve this look, plain and simple.

Actually The DTM cars have always looked like that, functional body kits and all.
Rice takes after the DTM cars if you ask me, not the other way around. Look at the C class DTM cars, wide body, tricked out, but everythign has a function and works as it was designed. form follows function.. in the case of rice'd out cars Form usually doesn't have much function except the looks. Personally I think that CLk looks amazing. I would flip if I saw one coming up behind me in the rear view. Alon

I like the look of that. Personally I think you can't really rice out a Benz unless you really have no idea to mod a car.

I think it needs a " TYPE R " sticker man !!!
What seperates this car from any other rice burner: 1. It's a Mercedes 2. The areodynamics kit is compleatly functional 3. It has the power to compliment the body........ SEXY.. I never understood the purpose of those huge expensive "REAR" wings on a front wheel drive car. (honda civic) Does anyone know? Adam

yeah actually the wings from what I am told by a friend who is ina racing club of riced out hondas, is because they lighten up the rear of the car so much, without it, lift off. hehe
so its to keep the rear on the ground because of the light weight in the rear of the car. Sounds like a good explanation to me. but I still don't know if I buy it or not. Any aerodynamics guru's out there want to chime in? Alon

But if you basially stripped the rear of the car down, removing every extra bit of weight, I.E Seats, interior upolstery, etc etc, so it was as ligth as can be, the car would be very light in the rear...
so I would say to an extent,a wing can help, but some of those wings, or rather most of them, follow form instead of function. Rather than function dictaing the form... Or rather most riced out cars have no use for a wing, but the real ones, probably do need it. But like I said, I have no basis other than what a friend who has one told me. Alon

I think that the only way that a civic would "lift off" would be if the car was going like 175mph, those wings have no use other than looks. If lift off was a problem I think that the car maker would have addresed it during production (you know like the problems the audi TT had).
