I saw thew clips of the coach going off the deep end climbing back up and diving off again ..... over and over. I remember thinking this dude is nucking futs and I cannot see any parent letting this crazy SOB near their kids. Then I hear about the various idiots (some of FOX) defending this idiot and thinking "have they reached the point that they will defend anyone so long as the 'left (who ever that is) is against it?"

I guess we have found our answer.

I am sorry, but there is no defense for the behavior of that coach. I can only hope he never gets a job around kids again.

From the clips I have seen there is a good case for filing criminal charges against him.

But having said that, I think it all comes down to 'Is he winning games?'

All sorts of behavior is overlooked, even criminal behavior, by some as long as that person is getting results.

Actually I was referring to....

During the McCarthy era all of the Hollywood studios had members of McCarthy's staff on their payroll. They would tip off the studios when McCarthy's people and/or the FBI were bringing the Reporters to stage a 'raid'.

Sam Goldwyn was tipped off that McCarthy's people would be there soon and who they were coming to arrest. Goldwyn asked if the guy was a Communist and was told he was and was proud of it. Goldwyn said fine, let them take him away, and then he stopped, thought about it, and asked, "What did his last picture do?" (This is the first recorded use of this phrase.)

The answer was it was the most profitable film the company had ever made.

When McCarthy's people showed up Goldwyn had them thrown off the lot and let them know that if necessary he could call in a few leg breakers who were not as civil as he.

McCarthy's people left and they never came back.

I don't think even Knight was as whacked as this guy, but Knight was a dick. Other coaches have done as well without Knight's style of bull$hit. No stories about John Wooden ever behaving that way.
