Renaming Hyperlinks
Who knows how to change/insert a name into a hyperlink?
Was trying to make a youtube link be the name of the song, but despite at least 5 minutes of research.... I was unsuccessful.

I find an easy way to do this is to simply type the text that I want to appear directly in the post. Select that text, then click the "Insert Link" button in the editor (looks like a little blue planet Earth with a link of chain). A box pops up where one can enter the URL of the link. Well that works for the forum, Thanks! Must be a way to do it in the HTML too...

Try editing a post in which such a link is present, and you can see - in HTML - what it looks like. |

Hey, you're welcome.
I've never spent the time to learn much about writing HTML. For what I need to do with it - eBay item descriptions, and a really simple web site - I just use KomPozer. It's a WYSIWYG editor, so purists will sneer at it, but it works for me. |

Will KomPozer allow me to translate links to put in email?
I send myself links for things fairly often so I don't have to search for them again, and it would be cool to name the link so it's obvious to me a year later that the link goes to Replacing W123 rear axles....

It works similarly in the word processing software I use, too. So, you could easily put together your own document containing the hyperlinks you want, along with your notes and any other content you wanted to include - and even export it as a PDF document with the hyperlinks in it. If all I needed was a document that included simple hyperlinks, then I'd do it one of those ways. I use KompoZer when I want to create a whole document as HTML (e.g., to use as an eBay item description, or as a page on my web site). |

So things are so easy....
Thanks again for the remedial course in using forum/email software!
