What a Weiner!

Classic politician.

Has no idea how to get a real job, so he thinks he might as well run for something. (See article excerpts below.)

I particularly like his warped thinking about sending the pictures to women he didn't even know: "To me, it was just another way to feed this notion that I want to be liked and admired."

How many people admire that kind of conduct?

Repentant Anthony Weiner considers run for New York mayor - TODAY.com

Quote:
“I do recognize, to some degree, it’s now or maybe never for me, in terms of running for something,” he told the New York Times Magazine in an interview posted online Wednesday.

“I’m trying to gauge not only what’s right and what feels comfortable right this second, but I’m also thinking, 'How will I feel in a year or two years or five years? Is this the time that I should be doing it?'

He's repentant; He's contrite; He's using a better publicist; He's a new man who deserves to hold elected office.

Patiently awaiting his version of the Checker's speech...

The guy's clearly a little goofy, but the other party has to put someone up who has a believable plan.

Otherwise the public is liable to think better to have a goof you know than a goof you don't.

Meanwhile, back in the real world.....

Weiner has a lot of baggage, but he also has great name recognition. Can he get elected? That is all that is at question here.

Mark Sanford just snagged the Republicans slot in his state, and he is still under investigation for committing multiple felonies. Using state money to pay for his trips to see his lady friend did not tarnish him in the eyes of Republicans.

If you are the kind of person who would love to be on a first name basis with the Governor, and you also had tons of cash to throw away, Weiner's people could come to you with the pitch that if he is elected you will get his personal cell number. For some folks this is all they need to hear.

I saw this first hand in Texas when G. W. Bush was running for Governor. People were bragging to me how they were finally going to own their own Governor and I just told them they were nuts since Bush had never struck me as someone who was for sale (I have met a lot of those types, and Bush just did not fit the mold).

Turns out I was right. Bush will never be my favorite President, but he sure put the skids on people just walking into the Governors office and demanding favors. I did not hear this from Bush, but I did here this from some folks that thought they owned the office whining about how impossible Bush was to 'work with'. He seemed to always be bringing up the, "Is it good for Texas", angle when someone would demand a Bill they liked be introduced.

It's the same with Weiner. If you can afford to lose the money he might be a good guy to invest in.

It's all about the money.

OK, so he engaged in some back-and-forth with women who weren't his wife. Is this really the end of the universe? He should have been more discreet though.

He reared his ugly head and blamed it on other people. This is a marvelous combination of silly behavior and stupid lying.

Sounds like a good candidate for New York.

It's not often you get two such perfect examples of this. It is like a Yin and a Yang. Which is the dumber thing to have done?

It reminds me of an old country song which is likely on YouTube somewhere. The gist of it is 'I couldn't tell her what I really thought, so I told her LIES!'

Question. Which is worse?

1. This guy who probably couldn't find his way to the bathroom

2. Another guy with a slick message that says what you want to hear but does something else?

Me, I will stick with this guy.

I like looking for the best one. Perhaps it is a snow job, I don't know.

Then I listen to them like they're up to something. Sometimes they are. Sometimes they are dumb. Sometimes they have just had a bad day. Actions, not words.
