Threading the needle at 155mph

No freaking way. One of the more insane things I have ever seen. I cannot even contemplate what that must have felt like. I am pretty sure I'd peed and crapped my pants at the same time.

Very impressive for a Goshawk. She has 10's of millions of years of evolution behind her and does that for a living. Her flying is like a guy walk. Give her a car key and lets see how well she does.

Very cool video. Birds of prey have always fascinated me.

Somewhere there's a video of someone else doing something just as stupid...involving a squirrel-suit, little brains and a bridge.

It ended with...

a r-e-a-l-l-y d-a-m-a-g-e-d, DNA-soaked squirrel-suit, hardly any brains and the bridge won.

This isn't a "sport" - it's practicing for the eventual suicide.

Is it "eventual suicide"? At what point does a test of ability become an eventual suicide? I mean, barring the result similar to the one you mentioned, of course. I'll grant there are some who will over challange themselves, and others who actually seek death by sport, but is someone doing this kind of thing necessarily doing it to die or to simply enjoy the thrill?

I’ve seen ravens fly through dense forest many times. It is absolutely jaw dropping amazing to watch how agile these large birds are in challenging territory. Not surprising to me that other birds have similar capabilities, or that some people would desire to do the same kind of things...

One of the comments below the video sums it up for me:

I'm surprised he was even able to glide due to the weight of his humongous balls.

You just know that guys life is going to end like an episode of Road Runner.

Likely if you did it would change your weight distribution and/or aerodynamics and trigger a loss of control...

I don't see how. It's all down in that area to begin with, it's just going from inside to outside.

Breath taking to even watch. But other than to mount a camera, why do these guys wear helmets?

He could survive a side swipe I suppose.

I was wondering how he lands (not on his feet like in the cartoons) I suppose he has a chute.

The buffeting of the wind is both strong and literally chilling. Plus birds and bugs are a concern. Of course a bird strike at the stated 155 mph would probably be fatal for both.

The video that kmaysob posted answers that.
