Finally getting her done...I think

Well...I have a child that is just about ready to take her driving test...If she passes, she's going to need to drive something. Since I generally don't let ANYONE drive my truck, I had to finally decide to take a harder look at my wife's. My truck is currently residing about 20 miles from me, in the storage unit next to the Mercedes (yes, I still have it).

Wife's truck didn't handle the drive from Utah too well while towing the Mercedes, and ended up with a heart transplant after arriving here. After that, the damage from a screwed up drive shaft shook the transmission so hard that the bell housing broke at the bolts...and since it's part of the tranny case, I needed to source another tranny. I put word out to my growing network of support out here, and today I got a phone call, letting me now that someone located what I needed...and would do the work for me on the cheap and under the table.

Right now, I have a charger on the truck, trying to get her to start up...I think I need to just get a new battery.

Anyway, for $750 I'm getting a replacement tranny and driveshaft, installed. The guy came over to double check what I told him, and smiled as he climbed out from under the truck, asking if I just wanted to sell it to him. Nope...rust free frame on a '89 truck in PA is a rarity.

I can hardly wait to get this beast back on the road...She's easier on gas than my truck, is easier to drive, and the seat is more comfortable, at least that's what I've been telling my wife. I'll say anything to keep her from getting her hands on my truck. LOL
