Really interesting...I felt sad when I saw how little the family from Chad had; however, as Jorn pointed out, the American family's meals are just processed and they are probably the worst ones off.

Its no wonder we're experiencing childhood obesity and other typically adult ailments at a much younger age.

Whose groceries? Are there one specific family from each country's purchases? Some kind of average?

BTW - some of the families from other countries actually look chubbier than the Americans

Two competing responses:

Vive la France!

and

Guatemala for the win!

I've heard numerous reports about how children in France eat everything. They're introduced to cusine and nutrition from an early age in school and are well fed there. Parents pay for it on a sliding scale.

Word is that the French have much less obesity than we.

Okay, so someone gives you a ticket that can be redeemed as having dinner with one of those families. Which do you choose?

A couple points:
The tea amount for the Britains is way too low
The beer count for the Zermans is way too low

If I'm cashing in a voucher it's for Indian dinner. I've had a the pleasure of eating dinner at a friend's house where their parents/grandparents grew up and subsequently learned to cook in India....it's about 500x better fresh than from any Indian restaurant. On a side note they laugh at "bad traffic" in the US.

I think it's kinda cool that if I did that for my house it would look waaaaaay more like Mongolia than anything else.

(And I'm a middle class white guy from the burbs)

We have huge hunks of meat like that enter our house every week. Although it would probably include one or two chickens.

I was in the DR last Jan and I noticed two things:

The girls were all slim and most of them were good looking. They eat very little fast food there and probably only buy enough for a few days at a time. Most of their diet is fruit and veg.

No one had tattoos or wires hanging out of their faces. Reminded me of around here 40 years ago.

Of course, they also have no medical, police corruption, no one cares about environment, no real cares about anything, no decent wages, your either very rich or very poor - your on your own there. Armed gaurds stand in front of auto parts stores - with broken guns that probably weren't even loaded.

Odd how some in America want similar levels of no controls.

Must be Dom. Republic? A buddy of mine, very well traveled, was there recently and he said the women were strikingly hot and friendly.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to call my travel agent . . .

*EDIT* Oops, read the rest of your post and came back to earth. Sorta like Mexico, some hot women but be careful if you make good time with while being gringo.
