I got a quote from Haggerty. They will insure it before its complete and driving for $113/yr. ONce up and running its 328 IIRC for $20,000 stated value. They don't care how many miles I drive but were very interested in how I might be using it. I believe we used an estimate of 5000 per year.

That's a cheap quote.

I pay something around $200 / year, which still seems ridiculously cheap.

Vehicles Under Construction Coverage

If you’re restoring or building a car, Hagerty’s Vehicle Under Construction (VUC) coverage costs just $20* and offers an easy way to ensure the best protection for your car. A simple addition to an existing Hagerty policy, VUC coverage includes:

Quarterly value increases
The value of your car will be raised automatically by 10% a quarter up to a maximum increase of $25,000 per year. No phone call necessary.

Added coverage for tools
Restoration is a tool-intensive time in any garage. With your Vehicle Under Construction coverage you will receive $750 of coverage for your automotive tools.

Access to convenience towing
Coverage includes a dedicated toll-free number for access to a dispatch center staffed with specialists trained in the specific needs of collector vehicles. They handle the details; all you handle is the payment.

Add Vehicle Under Construction coverage to your quote, or call Hagerty at 877-922-9701 to add it to your existing policy.
This is just what I have for Monika. Right now she is insured for 12000 agreed value. I love the increases as I am going to do a lot to her this Summer

I am glad you are going with them...

There are no mileage restrictions on mine but I do need to use other cars to commute to work. I told them when I first got the policy that from time to time I would drive the car to work (2-3 times per year) and they were cool with it. I think I pay around 300 for both cars.

I'll have to re-read my policy. Maybe I don't have an annual mileage restriction.

I think you should give The Hartford a call. We've been with them for about 9 years now and have no complaints. Service is good, rates are reasonable. You should call them the hartford and find out if they'll insure you.

I have Hagerty on the '59 bug and '79 bus. The yearly vig covers spare parts too- so when I sent them photos I made sure the extra bug fenders, deck lid and bus roof rack were in the photos.

The only issue they had was what was my daily driver- they were not thrilled that it was the 83 cd, but when I said "how about an 89 190" they were good to go.

The 'sad' part is no one under 25 can drive the vehicles, which has my 18 yr old really wound up as he can drive everything else.....its a real shame, son!
