A glasses-mounted camera, connected to a pocket-sized computer, OCR software and a bone-conduction speaker. Like Google Glass, but with purpose:

Cool stuff! I sent a link to lovely daughter #3 who's son is the one born very very prematurely who is visually impaired. If they can do this I bet the next step is computer assisted glasses so he can see normally.
