Promotion parties are usually unsanctioned, private events. much liquor is usally drunk and all have a great time, at the expense of the newly promoted. Most likley, someone got thiri knickers in a knot at the MSG's choice of food and support of something that at the time was a law of the land.

The man is a citizen, and has a right to his opinion and to voice his opinion as a citizen.
