e350 = boring appliance.

535i = happy fun!

There's a chip that awakens the turbo N55 DOHC-6 for another 40-50hp (340+hp), and then there's downpipes. Great engine. Glad you got the 3.0L turbo version!

I have sought a '10 or later N55 135i 6-speed later down the road.

It'll be interesting to hear your impressions comparing the two after your first few stints at the wheel.

I've considered getting a 135i myself. Congrats on the new purchase Jim, let us know how it compares to the E

New body mass index, new car, nice g/f. What else can I say. Congrat.

On the downside, you cannot use the BMW for our next meet.

Stay on top of the fluid/filter changes and change trans fluid/filter about every 40 k miles and you should easily get to 200k miles. Don't put anything but Mobil 1, 0W40 in it. Cooling system requires maintenance anytime after about 80 k miles. IIRC you are on the cutting edge with it with the electric water pump.

Nice looking car Jim.

I've been really debating doing the switch sooner rather than later...kind of want to hit 25k in my gti though, it's just a baby and I'd already be throwing some money away so might as well get more use out of it.

I rarely see them FS around here. Would have to go out of state, get a PPI etc. I was thinking about a WRX too, but it's hard to get over those cheap interiors.
