Do I go after my friends ex-GF?
They have been broken up for almost a year - and he is on his 3rd GF since leaving her... He is a very good friend of mine, and is in my group of 5 closest friends.
A bit of background - she is an old friend of mine. We went to grade school together (became friends in 2nd grade), and split up when middle school came. We keep in touch, and she has always interested me. I took her to Senior Ball when I was in high school, and fun was had by all! I am pretty good friends with her parents, especially her dad who is a GIANT car guy. So all, what do you say? Risk my friendship with my friend to go after his old girl? Or play it safe?

Mention it to him is the cool thing to do. He will respect you more since you did. And I feel certain he will be okay with it. If things work out for you and the girl, he might be the first to congratulate you.

Agree with daw and Kerry. Talk to the guy first. He most likely will say sure, no problem. He may feel awkward about it at first but will likely get over it.
Me thinks the bigger issue lies with yours and the gals friendship. Not many friendships can go back to just friends after the relationship doesn't work. If you are okay risking not having her and likely her Dad as friends down the road if it doesn't work, go fer it.
