actually, I heard that it is. There is a depiction of it in Monsters Ball. BBT's son does it. A judge's son in my hometown did it when he was in Jr High school.....

Few people actually get to practice committing suicide, so they may make amateur mistakes.
Actually this recalls the old Building code, originated, I think, by Hippocrates. Basically. it required "eye-for-eye". If you were the builder, and a building fell, and injured, or kill someone, the same would be required of you. Building collapse killed the Owner's first born son---sorry, but your eldest son dies. etc.

A few of our local LEO's have checked out by suicide in the last 5 years or so. The first 2 used pistols. One last summer went out fishing by himself on a calm day and his boat was found adrift an hour or so later. His body was recovered six days later. All very hush hush.

That woudn't bode too well for the owner and architect of that multi story sweat shop in India (or Pakistan?) that collapsed killing a couple of hundred people a few weeks ago.

The building fell because a genius with a backhoe was using it without any knowledge or supervision.

No building inspector could have foreseen or prevented that situation unless he was onsite at the time.

Just looking at the pictures, it seemed like a really bad idea to be knocking the building down with a track hoe with an occupied one story building next door.

Looks like someone was in over their head whether it be the contractor or individual operating the equipment. It would be real easy for something like this to happen with a trackhoe and an operator that did not have a clue.

I'm not sure it would be possible for a skilled operator to take that building down safely with that piece of equipment. It's not tall enough to work from the top of the structure, and, if it undermines the bottom of the structure...........it must fall.

Demolition of any structure is always dangerous and nothing is a certainty. No persons should ever be anywhere near such a structure as it is being dismantled.
