Mother Protects Kids From Alleged Carjacker: 'I Told Him He Messed With the Wrong Witch'
By ROB NELSON and ALEXIS SHAW | Good Morning America – 3 hours ago

A Texas mother's determination to keep her family out of danger drove her to battle an alleged carjacker until he fled from her minivan -- only to be struck by her vehicle as she tried to "stop him so he didn't hurt anybody else," the woman said.

While Dorothy Baker and her 2-year-old and 5-year-old sons were shopping Friday at a CVS in Baytown, Texas, a man identified as Ismael Martinez allegedly hid out in her unlocked van, police said.

When the family got back into the car, Baker said Martinez "popped up out of the backseat and said that if I didn't want my kids to get hurt, that I would do exactly what he said."

Martinez, 54, allegedly pulled a knife on Baker while she was driving and demanded she stop at an ATM for money, she said.

When she refused, Martinez allegedly became violent, she said.

Baker said she fought back, refusing to compromise the safety of her children.

"She's got a cut that goes across her chest, and she grabbed the knife and he bit her hand," Baker's husband, Charles Flugence said.

I wonder how many times she backed over him to make sure he didnt try & get away?
Pity he is alive. Will cost more $$$$ than the scum bag is worth to put him through the court system.

He got what he deserved. He may have been lucky as her intent that I could understand may have been to kill him with the vehicle.

That would have been no loss to the world in general.

Bit her hand? Hope she gets rabies shots. (As well as a key to her home town -- she's a hero for dealing with this thug the way she did.)

I remember another failed car-jacking story from our area -- three men had robbed a bank and were trying to evade police. At one point towards the end of the chase, they pulled into the back parking lot of an apartment building, dumped their car, and tried car-jacking a vehicle from a young woman with her three kids in the car. They had to abandon it, however, as the car was a stick-shift and none of them could drive it. They had to escape on foot and were caught soon afterward.

I have a friend who is over 10 years clean in the narcotics self help program. ( Brain fart--or rather brain sieve--CRS)
Anyway, she has mentored hundreds of other women over the years, and is really sold on "the program". She was meeting a group at a local gas station to go to their meeting together. Getting back into her car after filling up the gas, a guy comes up and sticks a gun through the window in her face, and demands her car. She vacates the car, grabs the gun and pistol whips the perp with his own gun. She doesn't like the story. She doesn't want to be that person, but the truth is--that is her, all over.
