This whole area has been a slippery slope. Our side of the picture has some issues as well. If the germans launched a complaint after the war about certain things the allied side did I never heard of a resulting trial.

Very high numbers of german prisoners of war starved to death in confinement on purpose after the war ended are not that much different than what the Russians did as well.

Most where members of normal army units. The were not even provided shelter but dug holes in the ground in an attempt to survive that failed. Wars always seem to bring out the worse of human behaviours from time to time. These men could have just as easily been released and in hindsight perhaps fewer would not have had to live with the resulting guilt until the end of their lives. In reality they presented no threat to anyone.

Then there is the fact that if you had information we needed you were given a free ride and treated like you did nothing wrong. Nothing like morality that is flexible like that. Wernher von Braun anyone?

Wars technically may have been mans worse invention. They never seem to end and almost always exist in one fashion or another.

My personal opinion is that today we are primarily in a serious economic war. We seem to have developed a way to mitigate it's current effects at least for the time being but the primary issue is still there.

Does not get even lip service as the actual problem. At the same time a large percentage of the population have to be aware it exists. It looks like we need people of extreme common sense to deal with this sooner than later. Otherwise this war could be lost easily enough.

That's not comforting. It was economic war on Germany that allowed a pissant psychopath like Hitler to rise to power.

Economic, oil, land, crops, gold, silver, etc, etc. It don't matter. They only thing that has changed is what we are fighting over. Mankind has fought wars since before oil was even useful and will fight over something even after oil isn't useful anymore. It is in our nature. If we put a bunch of people on a deserted island with nothing to fight over, they'd invent something to fight over. Just as the proverbial leopard cannot change it's spots, mankind cannot help himself but fight over something. The only time it stops is when mankind becomes extinct as a species.

I think a lot of the issue with the NAZIS is that they did a lot of extermination, cruelty and enslavement of People that had little to do with directly winning their War; far in excess of the Allies.
So you can say the Allies did bad things but the NAZIS clearly exceeded them in sheer numbers and degree of evil.

I cannot imagine either Hitler or Tojo dropping only 2 Atomic Bombs if the had access to Atomic Bombs.

Not sure if we actually had any more to drop in August of 1945 -- they weren't exactly mass-produced items at that point.

They did have at least one more bomb. In an interview General Tibbets said that general Lemay asked if there were any more bombs and Tibbets replied yes. General Lemay told him to being it to the theater. The bomb was about to loaded on a ship in San Francisco at the time that Japan surrendered, so it was held up and not sent.

We'd cut a deal with Hitler if we could have, that is, if he had anything we needed. Unfortunately, the world ISN'T about what the PRINCIPLE is. As I have always said, people say a lot of things, believe in few of them and actually DO even fewer. And people say I have trust issues. Wonder why.

I know for a fact they have 2. Not sure if they really had more dispute what they say. I mean, in a shootout with me, are you going to announce "Hey, I am running low on ammo."?

Exactly, but they were being produced at the rate of one every week or two, so no ability to hit Japan with a third before surrender. This being said, the Nazis were much worse than we were, no denying.

As part of the victor group, I'd agree. As a skinhead, I'd disagree. Again, depends on where you stand.

From everything I have read there were no more to be dropped at the time. Of course that is not what we wanted the world to think.
