Here?!? If it was an image of Elvis painted on velvet you'd have a shot at a response.

The fellow with the brass era cars (what's his name?) might know.

Carlton Hughes. Haven't seen him around lately.

I have this one; "monkey bridge at midnight" I bought at an estate sale for $1.00 He was a master of woodblock and the classic Japanese look.
Hiroshige was very prolific; he and his team of engravers and workers made thousands & thousands of prints like maniacs. I'm sure you can look it up as his works are well documented.

Yes, I went through about 15 or 20 series, some complete, some not. Did not find the print. However the writing (which I cannot decipher) identifies the scene - might say "high bridge at XXX" - and to the right the chops which are signatures vary with time. Supposedly if you can find the right signature - which changed over the years - you can target the time period and narrow down the search. Someone out there will know.

You paid $1?

Anyone?

PS - is there something wrong with the forum search function? I could not find this thread so I typed my name in Search and clicked first thread and then posts. Got nothing both times; it could not find the thread or any of my posts for Hiroshige. I searched for Hiroshige and magically found the thread. Am I not using the Search box properly?
