A few years ago, one of those kindly old lady neighbor types had an industrial-size bird feeder installed on a pole just about 10 feet away from my property line. My house was the tallest in the neighborhood, so my roof peak served as the avian version of the Holiday Inn Suites. At one point, I had so many birds on my roof that I swore that I saw Tippi Hedren and Suzanne Pleshette running down my street. She either became too infirm/too bored/too cheap to keep the feeder filled, so eventually things tapered off, but it was a PITA while it lasted. One of my other neighbors bought out Home Depot's stock of plastic owls, which did much for local aesthetics, but little to abate the problem.

Unfortunately we don't live in a bubble and your actions might impact my living. For instance, my leaving a stagnant pool in my lawn might be fine for me but what if it breeds mosquitoes?

So true. I lived in a small town for a brief period of time. It was interesting as the elderly man 2 houses south of me feed everything that would eat what he sat out. There were racoons, squirrels, feral cats everywhere.

Pigeons are basically vermin. If it attracts them and he's been warned, he should pay a fine. This is also a lot better than HOAs out west. The fine was likely levied by a town court magistrate making it subject to appeal at the county level should he be interested in fighting it.

Only if you have to deal with the fallout. Otherwise it is fine. As long as you don't have to be picking up crap it is kinda fun. I thought the neighbor's girl was cute when we were told how she kicked hwr classmate who was aggravating her. Her father who pad to pay $400 for the wrecked glasses grom the other kid didn't seem amused.

Shotguns aren't banned in NYC, possession is legal and a long gun Licence isn't very hard to get. This being said, hunting within city limits would probably be illegal (with good reason).

Folks in TX probably would take a dim view to open feeding of some of the critters out there . . . feral hogs, for instance. Out here in AZ, there are more than a few folks that will set out feed for rabbits, birds and even javelinas.

We feed feral hogs. We call it, "fattening for slaughter".

Why do you think that? We know Cheney has a good working one.
