GNX is coming back...

2015 Buick Grand National and GNX: 25 Cars Worth Waiting For 2014–2017 – Future Cars – Car and Driver

That would be a fun car to go M3 hunting in.

Buick's GN will offer the choice of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four (currently rated at 272 horsepower) or a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 321 horses in the ATS. The wicked GNX, available only in the official shade of evil (black), will be powered by a twin-turbo *3.6-liter V-6 that should be good for 400 horsepower.
While I am a fan of big ol', push-rod American iron, it's good to see that Detroit is starting to catch on to the fact that there is indeed a replacement for displacement (understanding, of course, that the influence is likely coming from outside the states).

Well,.... they're bringing the name back anyway. That cars appearance bears no resemblance AT ALL to its name sake.

Whatever will sell a few cars I guess.

I like how GM is not jumping on the retro bandwagon.

Retro just means your out of ideas.

Could be worse.

At least power and handling will come with the Grand National and GNX name.

Don't really see a new idea in this one. For American cars the CTS V was a new bold styling and put Cadillac back on the map of young buyers. This one is for old buyers that want to relive something they never had.

The new CTS is stunning looking in person. GM is really on a roll.

The ATS is a better car than what the Germans have now.

Yeah, like Hollywood. The remake the old movies for the same reason.

BTW, GM not jumping on the retro bandwagon? Camaro, HHS, SST....

My Wife is bugging me to replace her Pontiac G8 GT with a Chevy SS, but since a new SS is coming in 2016 I don't see any reason to rush into anything.

It is nice to see American cars catching up to the rest of the world. BMW had this whole 'sports sedan' thing figured out a long time ago, and they seem to be the one everyone is chasing.

Not a big fan of faux retro, but this styling isn't so hot either. Cartoonish grille, windows the size of arrow slits. Looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old child, with no offense to 12 year old children.

I don't know -- they're following the original Grand National idea pretty closely. The original GN was a small for the day turbo V-6 engine.

I saw one on display at the GM Nationals in Carlisle last weekend. It had 66 miles on the clock. What's interesting, is that besides it's $29K+ sticker price, it carried an ADM bringing the total to an even $40K.

I also saw the height of sacrilege, a 308 Ferrari repowered with a Fiero V6 engine.

Probably more reliable than the original engine. Kind of like dropping a Detroit V8 into a Jag is often a big improvement.

Fantastic! Big kudos to Buick for the rear drive and manual transmission availability!

A Ferrari powered by a Fiero engine? Given the popularity of Fiero-fauxrarri kits available chances are it was just a Fiero.
