well growing up in the 70's in the small town midwest,the only cars we saw were american.back then gas was cheap.h.p. was plenty and street racin was the thing to do on sat nite.they are trying to appeal to my generation which sadly ain't workin on me.for 2 reasons.1.i will never buy another american car.2.i still have my 66 ss396 chevelle i bought in high school.

I was at summer camp in about 1978. A kid with one of those 70's-ish t-shirts had one with that written on it with a 76 Stingray.

The American cars of that era were huge bloated floating barges with pitiful brakes, handling and fuel economy. When they brought out compacts they were all of the above except in a smaller package. The exception was the second gen Corvairs which handled wonderfully. And the corvette Most years.
