peach n pork
Seeing as we're here on peach parts I thought I'd show off my crazy dinner.
I have pretty much nothing in my fridge, but its like 100 dgrees out and no ac, so I'm not going to the store tonight. Got me a pork stake out of the freezer and started grilling it with some pepper and garlic on it. while grilling I was eating some peaches off the peach tree and thought, what the heck, and sliced up a few peaches and covered the stake. Let that cook for 10 min or so, then kinda smashed the peached against the stake. then pulled the peaches off. flipped the stake and did it all over again The peaches are kinda nasty on their own, covered in garlic and all. but eating them along with the stake. YUMMMMMM

Why would you eat a stake?? They are nothing but fiber and usually pressure treated.

Fruit and pork is a natural. Try halving the peaches, brush with a bit of oil and grill them separately next time. Apricots are good grilled as well, and under-ripe pears and and.....

Yuck!
After being fed DAILY canned peaches in heavy syrup, over cottage cheese, EVERY DAY for years, while a child growing up,
*And* after working in a Del Monte foods peach cannery in Emeryville, Ca. (near Oakland), as my summer job back in 1969 and through 1972, I never want to see or smell another peach as long as I live. The mere THOUGHT of peaches still - even today - makes me want to vomit.

I know the feeling...

Only recently have I been able to eat fried chicken...and only my wife's recipe. The mere smell of driving by one now makes me want to turn my wheel and drive in the opposite direction.
