Different meaning of the word "McMansion"
The Most Beautiful McDonald’s In America « Scouting NY
Not sure whether this is awesome, horrifying, or a little bit of both. |
Nice redo. Awful place to eat. Apparently it was a restaurant prior to MDs getting it and a funeral home....

Looks great on the outside.....not so much on the inside. Thanks for posting it!

There used to be another really ornate Mickey D's on the coast road in Belmar, NJ. A few years ago, it actually got converted into a more "normal" restaurant, though.

That's a great synopsis of Jericho Turnpike in Nassau County- "land of taxes, traffic, and red-light cameras". During the real estate bubble, many LI homes were replaced with McMansions, or McMonsters as some were called, taking up almost the entire square footage of the lot. Many went "under water", some literally.

I'm wondering if this may be a violation of the mcD's franchisement agreement. I remember reading about another instance where a franchise owner put in leather couches, added menu items, ect ect, and ended up losing their franchise.
Something about the branding meaning the look has to be the same, menu the same, ect. I wonder how they got away with a black logo. Good looking building though |

Nice repurposing of an old building. In Carson City we have the old St. Charles Hotel, built in 1862 and one of the older buildings here, converted to a roughly English-style pub called Firkin and Fox. While slightly pricey, the have good food and a fairly wide selection of beverages. It's across the street from the Nevada legislature, so when they're in session, you can usually overhear our legislators celebrating their legislative victories, or more often, lamenting the death of their bills. According to this website, the rooms on the upper floors can still be rented, which I just found out: St. Charles Hotel - Carsonpedia
