Only two escalators in the state of Wyoming.

Besides peachparts I like to get my daily news from Gawker, a news site for hipsters and alike and they have an interesting article about Wyoming and that it has only two escalators in the entire state. I drove through Wyoming and can't really remember if I even saw a house but I'm pretty sure I never saw an escalator. I did buy a pair of Wranglers at this cowboy store we found of the highway, I got them in size 32 but they were more like a 29/30, so I guess they do take the stairs more in Wyoming, they must be slim people.

Gawker.

Lots of space, not too many people. They build OUT more than they build up -- who needs stairs, moving or not?

If they move or not, only two escalators, pretty amazing.

I lived there in the mid-1970's. In Cody. I had a job surveying for oil exploration in the Oregon Basin and the overthrust. I loved it. The state is lovely and hard -- it's a high plains desert in most of the state and the winter is a killer. The desert is not as bad as the Sonoran or Chihuahuan farther south. Oh but it is a wild place. I saw lots of pronghorns, mule deer, elk. A few bear. Golden eagles. I talked (sort-of) to a Basque shepherd on contract for the winter in WY. Another time I was in a bar eating a hot bowl of white bean soup and went to the bar to get another beer. Near the foot-level brass rail the floorboards were worn, turned roughly downward from the plane of the floor. I idly wondered how that came to be and noticed a couple of cowboys talking at the far end of the bar. As they talked I noticed one of the cowboys was slowly rolling his spur back-and-forth on the floor. Wyoming.

I driven through there a few times, and spent the night at the Motel 6 in Cheyenne a couple times. Like Nevada, it's a sparsely populated arid state. I took the tour of the state museum in Cheyenne once. Worth a look if you're in the general vicinity. One of the things I learned at the museum is that residents of Wyoming are less likely to have air conditioning than residents of any other state. Cheyenne is also home to the world headquarters of Taco John's, from whom I'm sure Taco Bell borrowed the idea of putting tater tots in pseudo-Mexican fast food.

I don't recall ever seeing an escalator or elevator in Wyoming.

My wife and would love to move to Wyoming eventually. However, living in Ogden, UT, we were in WY every other weekend, so moving back there wouldn't be bad.

Truly a beautiful state.

My wife just came back from an extended Utah, Colo, Wyoming, Idaho trip. I'm currently processing a gazillion pics she took.

Well duh! Of course there aren't any escalators in Wyoming. What use would sheep and horses have for them?

Think of the children! Whenever I encountered an escalator at a fancy mall or an airport my (extremely patient) Mom would let me ride it up and down oh 50 times or so The super-high-speed and stationary run trips were always fun

Wyoming is the new Colorado.

Drive through at night, and it is amazing.
Not a light to be seen in any direction.... priceless.

Just don't let the tank get low after dark, they roll up the sidewalks there (well, they don't really even have sidewalks, but that's a different story...)

I would have to guess that there are actually more than two escalators in Cheyenne though.... that is pretty close to a regular small city.

much less populated than Nevada.

just barely over half a million in the entire state, whereas Nevada has over 2 and a half

Take away the Vegas metro ares, give it to CA, and it won't. NV is a big place with one major city. (Actually, more like a small town with casinos and housing estates attached, but I digresse.)
