Life is pretty cheap over there especially if you are a girl. Probably not in Beijing but in rural areas? Who knows. I wouldn't doubt it since we have Jefferey Dahlmer here.

Even in a place as progressive as Singapore, some of the elders also view girls as a "money pit" where I throw money in and all she does is marry some guy and they move on. Family name is gone. Their loyalty is to the husband so they aren't worth as much as a son.

When it comes to how ugly people can be, little surprises me anymore.
