Exclamation O2 sensor help

I have a 2001 e320. The code reads that oxygen sensors are bad but my mechanic says they are fine so it must be a computer going bad. Is the engine control module reading them bad? I'm not to good with cars so any help would be great! Everything runs very smooth only issue is the check engine light saying bad o2 sensors.

Did the mechanic check the wiring?

how did he test them? ive had sensors that seemed to be good using a meter, but were really bad. only way to truly test them is with a scope. how many miles are on the sensors? if they are original, you would probably benefit from changing them either way.

i would bet that since it runs fine, they are on their way out, but still working well enough to keep it running

They have between 15-20k on them. Ill ask how he knows they are good but I remember him replacing them. He's saying its what ever reads the sensors "report" isn't reading them correct. He thinks its a computer issue and dosnt do that at his shop.

im guessing he unplugged them to test. if he has a good scanner, he should be able to read through the computer to see what they are doing. do you run fuel treatments often? i did o2 sensors in my grandmas corolla about 15k ago.

the guy at her local autozone convinced her to buy a ton of lucas fuel treatment. she had been using it every fill up, up until it killed her upstream sensor. luckily the sensor was still under warranty.

i would get a second opinion. sounds like he may be trying to get out of warranty work.

210k miles on the car. He has been my mechanics (not Mercedes dealer) for 6 years always using original Mercedes parts including the sensors of course. So he's not BSing he's been good to me. Wiring is good. Anyone know what reads the sensors? What reads and gives the codes? It's looking like a dealer might have to take it in.
