Al-Jazerra reported a car bomb went off somewhere in Lybia, but no other real details, and they also added it was just a report and they were looking into if it was true.

It's been kinda eery hearing the church bells tolling today. Hard to believe it's been 12 years.

Remembering Mr. Keane (family friend and my coach for numerous youth teams), Dave Winton and Jeff Bittner (schoolmates of mine, classmates of my brother, both coached by Dick) today. Remembering all of the victims.

I see bikers commemorating victims in 9/11. Nothing about Muslims. Leave it off this thread.

I hope we do have the ability to forget some time. At least to the point that we no longer use the threat of terrorism to justify meddling in the Middle East and erosion of our civil liberties.

As with anything, time will heal us. Hopefully.

yes

I actually started thinking about it a few days ago and how it changed my life. Unemployment went from 0% to 10%, 12 years ago in Orlando, FL.

Post 9/11 more than a few airlines have gone bankrupt. I keep hearing from various people that they have chosen to drive on long trips rather than fly. They still have safety and security concerns and don't feel that the TSA pat down/feel up, luggage search, shoe search, etc etc is doing nothing more than slowing up the check-in process. Depending on the destination with two hour check in times plus flight times, you can come close to beating flight travel times in a car. Plus, air fares are more expensive due to fuel costs, etc. Hop in the car, see the USA, stay in a few nice hotels and you are there. Luggage isn't lost and sent to Indonesia when you were going to Chicago, you don't have to experience a screaming out-of-control child kicking the back of your seat the entire flight, drunk passengers, etc etc.
