More anti freedom...............

The Constitution guarantees the right to free speech, but don’t try to pass out copies of it at Modesto Junior College in California.

A student at the school who tried to pass out pocket-size pamphlets of the very document that memorializes our rights got shut down on Sept. 17 – a date also known as Constitution Day.

The college has rules about people passing out stuff willy nilly? Doesn't seem so bad to me. Has nothing really to do with the constitution, it just happened to be what he wanted to pass out.

Over-hyped BS. Go break rules, videotape it because you know you're going to get something, then go cry about it. Would it have been any different if he was handing out pro-choice stuff? Think it would have made Fox News?

We are in the post constitutional period. The constitution gets in the way of what the leftie loons want to do. SO, this is no surprise.

You should wrap yourself in the flag today and start handing out copies of the Constitution at your workplace. It IS a copy of the Constitution, so I'm sure that your many superiors won't have any objection.

Feels good to say and thump your chest but something tells me you're wrong. Is the college public or private property? What does handing out the constitution vs. any other document have to do with it? You really think that if he was pushing LGBT or pro-choice stuff that you'd be reading about it on Fox News? Be honest.

If a workplace has a prohibition about employees handing out flyers, and an employee hands out flyers which contain copies of the constitution, should that employee be exempt from that prohibition?

If a town has an anti-littering ordinance, and an individual strews papers containing copies of the Constitution, should that individual be exempt from being penalized for littering?

If a college has a prohibition about individuals handing out flyers on campus, and an individual hands out flyers containing a copy of the Constitution on campus, should that individual be exempt from that prohibition?

colleges have traditionally been a place of discussion & dissent, esp since the 60s. Ideas are discussed and information dispursed in the forum of intellectual thoughts. Regardless of whose idea. And I don't GAS that it was on a local Fox station, the point is suppresion of free speech in a place where it is traditionally encouraged.

Businesses have the right to impose regulations regarding this.

What guidelines do you use to determine which rules should apply and which should not? I was under the impression that you believed that laws are valid until overturned via legal means. Does this not apply to school regulations as well?

Colleges are businesses and own property, and can impose rules on that property. Pick your side.

Better yet, how about the Communist Manifesto?
