Packard Motor home

Just a little resto project for the ambitious person who wants to have a motor home like no other. Looks like an excellent candidate for a cummins!;)

OOps!

can't seem to get it going. sorry.

37 or so Packard motor home looks like a hearse on steroids! On ebay.

I've seen some pretty good hearses around the SF bay area; the "goth" types LOVE 'em.

One was a '66 Cadillac hearse painted candy apple purple; it had a chrome plated hangman's noose that swung back and forth in the rear window!

Its vanity California license plate said: "4U 1DAY".

It had (I had heard) a killer sond system; the subwoofers were inside its coffin!

Another such hearse sported a California vanity license plate that said: "RU NEXT".:P

I remember a guy in the old neighborhood build a 'house car' on the body of a 1956 Caddy Fleetwood. I think he got the plans from Popular Mechanics.

This would have been around 1964.

There was a company in Indy who built quite a few campers on Cadillac hearse chassis. I also for a couple of decades used to see an Edsel camper in a little town south of here Springboro? ...not sure of the name of it. A year or so ago it disappeared. I hope someone is restoring it.

James Bond gets chased by an old hearse

while driving a Sunbeam Alpine in Jamaica.

"Dr. No" (1961)

Car chase / Dr.No (New music) - YouTube

When asked "How did it happen?" Bond replies "i think they were on their way to a funeral"

Cool! I remember that scene.

It has some nice lines. The only motor home I've seen with carlike lines on the outside rather than travel trailer body construction of the camper portion. Unique in what I have seen.
