Not sure what happened to my other sex jihad thread. Someone seemed to think it was an attack on Aklim. That reference was just to the fact that he's very good at interpreting the world in sexual terms. So I'll post the link again. I was unaware of this feature of Islamism:

I'd heard about it years ago. Not the jihad part, just the hippocracy of the "temporary marriage" so you can **** outside of marriage/cheat on the wife etc. It's a novel way to overcome the loony tunes nature of the cult's moralistic blatherings.

The temporary marriage thing is Shiite. I'm pretty sure this article is talking about Sunnis. I've not heard of it amongst Sunnis before. The interesting part to me is that, according to the piece, Muslim women are freely traveling to the battlefront to reproduce with warriors.

Assuming that's true is it really all that surprising? Any different than a western mall rat ditz screwing some rockstar/ballplayer etc?

And after all. It doesn't matter what subdivision of the cult does or does not condone a particular action, where religion is concerned hippocracy is innate.

I agree it's not much different than groupies at a rock concert or NBA game, it's just that I've never heard of Jihadist groupies before. I think it's worthy of further sociological study.

Um... it's in the Hadith literature, therefore its first occurrence should have predated the Shia/Sunni issue.

And considering this was allowed by Muhammed himself... well...

This shouldn't surprise anyone familiar with Islam. It's not the only sexual aberration which should have anyone questioning the authenticity of the religion.

Especially since in other parts of the world, having a brief sexual relationship, contracted for a certain period and paying for it is called.... prostitution.

The Hadith also allows you to capture a married woman if you've raided her village. Then rape her if you wish, but you can't "finish up" inside if you want to ransom her.

No, I'm not joking.

It's been around since Muhammed himself.

You must compensate the women though. So it might be a little bit different than groupies.. more like something else...

I definitely was not bringing this topic up to suggest the authenticity or inauthenticity of any religion. Power is an aphrodisiac in any circumstances, religious or otherwise.

You're perfectly right though. It's not the best test of a prophet, but it's probably the easiest to recognize. When they get enough power, the sex starts to come to the forefront, just like the money grabbing.

But seriously, what part of this is suggesting that Islam is anything but the product of a 6th century Arab desert trader?

the temporary marriage has a little detail that makes it apart from prostitution. A woman cannot enter into another contracted marriage for atleast 2 months. And if she is actually pregnant the father of the kid has to raise/support him till adulthood. No getting out.

WTH sort of fatwa is that a woman can have a baby without knowing the actual father of it. The article claims that the ladies were bunking with 30 or 100 men - for 100 men it would take 200 months gap meaning the entire war should have at least run for about 16 years at least

Um... that's still prostitution. It might not be as profitable as the stuff over here on the streetcorners, but it's still sex for money.
