Dilemma...

Got the number of the cute bartender at the watering hole I frequent (talking I go here daily)...

Do I go after it (and hope all works out, if not it will be awkward), or do I play it safe?

Aklim? Hatty? Swampy?

Talk about a major dilemma.

Til' a decision has been reached, I am going to talk to my friends Jack Daniels and Johnny Walker..... They seem to give great advice.

Do it.

I'm sure there are other bars, and bartenders tend to be replaced at regular intervals anyway.

If she gave you her number she wants you to ask her out.

One day I was meeting with a buddy who I was going to build a spec house with (bout 15 years ago). His brother was sitting in on the meeting. The brother said his horoscope said he was going to meet an exciting new love interest today. My buddy looked at me and said while making an exaggerated motion from his junk up into the air with his fingers and thumb making a circle..."He's gonna switch hands!"

Here's some advice from an old bar hound. "Don't **** where you eat".

If you enjoy the bar, avoid any personal entanglements. It NEVER turns out well. If you and the lady hit it off then that bar is no longer a refuge 'cause now it's "OUR" place, and not "your" place. If you don't hit it off then the bar becomes a divided camp.

To the OP:
And there are no other bars in a 10-mile radius of this one? You like her, go out with her. You don't like her, ignore her.

You're not her gynecologist and she's not your shrink. You're just her boss's occasional customer -- or hers, if she happens to own the place. As long as you're not paying her for drinks right after boinking her, even such a professional relationship is irrelevant.

Man up, do whatever you want, and stop asking your "friends" like a high-school girl thinking about a prom date.

Sometimes they give the number just to get you out of their face, then when you call, they're always busy.

OTOH, maybe she does want a date.

Johnny Walker is a drunk sum b!tch. Fun at parties sometimes but he doesn't think clear.

What you need is to add oxygen to the equation. When I was in my prime - 30 to 40 - I noticed that when I rode a bike to a party I did much better than when I drove. I had charged my body with oxygen on the ride.

Start doing some aerobics at a fitness club. No matter how goofy it seems, it will add a rosiness to your cheeks, and get you in line to be closer to grabbing holdt of her cheeks. Plus, any kind of movement aerobics will make you a better dancer if you take her out to a place like that.

If you're going to sell a car, you fix it up, polish it up, get the funky stuff working right. You're trying to sell your studliness to this hot babe, best polish that $hit up.

If they just want you out of their face I thought they just gave a fake number.

(They always did that to me).

Does the area code start with 555?

To iwrock, what exactly is the downside to this question? NOT having asked the bartender out after she gave you her number and still frequenting the bar I would consider insulting to the girl, especially if she still sees you in there all the time mooning after her.

The safe route is call her because she wants you to call her. Did you ask for her number? Stop fuking around. If the number isn't fake, this is a green light.
