I see this was from the High Times camp. They are a bunch of douchebags. My old lady is a bit of a cannabis expert and they have had to issue an apology to her for plagiarizing her work. They wanted to negotiate a contract with her but continued to steal her work without compensation or even a byline. They easily owe her into the tens of thousands. Eventually she stopped feeding them content and they have gone back to sucking. Case in point: "mix weed and butter, heat and strain". Meanwhile lucky locals are having their socks knocked off with the likes of her medicated raspberry chambourd gellato, medicated bacon caramel, and medicated black sticky gingerbread. I guess if you've only learned to grow crappy weed from high times, making it into a bitter butter isn't the worst you could do.

Two OUNCES to a pound of butter.

The lettuce part is easy. Take the head of iceberg, open the back door and throw it out for the chickens. Take out the spinach, arugula and mixed greens and make a salad.

So back with Bill it was "I smoked but I didn't inhale". Now it is "I ate but didn't swallow"? Some guys are going to be upset if the girl they are with doesn't.

Most of the recipes that involve using butter are over-done. It doesn’t take much heat or time to make butter separate and burn. Once that’s happened, the result is hideous.
The other detail is that it’s not smart to strain the saturated bud from the butter. While some theorize that the active ingredients migrate away from the bud, only a small percentage actually does. The end result is that by straining, you’d get about 12% of what you started with. The ideal prep is to finely chop the bud. Some maintain that a coffee grinder works best, but this often heats the bud while shredding it. Sauté the finely chopped bud at the lowest possible heat, or just use a double boiler, but don’t let the butter separate or burn. Once done, poor the whole mess into a jar, seal it and let it cool. After that refrigerate it and use in a number of different ways. Peppermint scones are an ideal medible. Ideally one would experiment to see how to heat butter and how it burns and separates before putting in the bud. |

It's easy to make. Slow melt a pound of butter in a pan over low heat. Commercial butter contains a lot of water so the water will begin to bubble and evaporate. When the butter has stopped popping all the water is gone. The whitish milk solids will have settled into the bottom of the pan. Slowly pour the butter through a cloth or other filter into a storage container, leaving behind the the last bit containing the milk solids.

I read that ghee doesn’t break down the goodies very well and due to that have not tried.
At any rate, the important detail is to not burn the media. |

Not for me. Too easy to OD with edibles. Last time was about 25 years ago - brownies. About 12 hours of misery.

^Many have had marijuana brownies that had too much marijuana. That can produce unpleasant effects. The right formula is complex. The goal is to produce a so-called maintenance dose with a certain size food serving. But anyone serving should let their subjects to know what they are taking.
A number of first time and occasional marijuana consumers are prone to having some fairly pronounced physical and psychological issues. It will be interesting to see how these issues percolate into the news as the 2 states with legal marijuana open their retail and restaurant doors to the public in a few months. |

There is no reason in the world why clarified butter would do a worse job than whole butter and every reason why it would eliminate the browning aspect.
