Once they trapped the vehicle, the thugs even tried to grab Lien’s wife, who was inside with the couple’s 2-year-old, a witness who’s being hailed as a good Samaritan said Sunday.
“We saw one of them opening the door of the passenger’s side and trying to force the lady out of the car,” said Sergio Consuegra, 52, who jumped between the dad and the bikers.

Keep in mind this happened after he ran over a member of their group and led them on a multiple minute chase. Had he stayed put to try to talk the situation out, he probably would have come out with some vandalism to his vehicle. His decision to try to run was foolish. He should have known he wasn't going to be able to get away. Yes, the behavior the motorcyclists who attacked Lien and his vehicle was criminal. They are being prosecuted. However, Lien behaved badly as well.

Yeah, you know when they open your door and try to get you out (allegedly, not pictured on the viral video) I'm sure you can calmly reason with people like that. What could go wrong?

Ah yes, the blame the victim game.

Lien had a two-year-old child in the car when his vehicle was first set upon by a gang of motorcyclists. Sorry, but in that type of situation with a young child in the car, my first instinct would not have been to wait for the windows to be broken out, but to press the gas pedal smartly into the cut-pile carpeting.

Personally, I'm tired of being told I have to watch out for motorcycles. They can watch out for themselves.

As far as I'm aware, they didn't do that until after Lien escalated the situation.

Motorcycles don't kill people; people kill people.

Seriously, what are you thinking? Would you have got out of your vehicle and pulled a Rodney King "why can't we all just get along?"

Your odds of not having ass your kicked were about one in a hundred. PLUS you had a kid a wife in the vehicle. They started the crap with the brake check and they wanted it to escalate into a mob rules situation. Ok maybe a 5% chance of not having your ass kicked. Those odds are way too low for me. I would have done similar. I would have even tried to back over the bikes when he had him cornered and knocked out his windows.

Not what I heard, but I'll stick to what is captured -- do you think a pack of people who (a) just caused an accident, and (b) are now banging on your car, denting it and (c) slashing your tires, is going to be a reasonable group to "talk it out" with?

Not the best situation, but running didn't help anything. Had he done it without injuring someone, it would have been merely foolish. Severely injuring a semi-innocent person makes me want him charged criminally.

Some of them split the lane, ride on sidewalks, pass in no passing zones, street race, etc.

More importantly, he had a NATURAL right to defend himself and his family.
