About on par with KFC for what that's worth.
Would you buy them again? I would

I probably would, maybe even a 5 piece. When time permits we make some nice sandwiches or wraps and pack a cooler but with the ridiculous amount of running around we do nearly 7 days a week, sometimes we resort to just grabbing something on the go. I don't care for McD's burgers but the wings weren't bad in a pinch.

Probably could be worse. Some places seem better according to the wife

My favorite place for wings is the Bidwell Tavern in Coventry, CT. They've got a bunch of different kinds, wet and dry, and I've tried just about all of them. I started going there back when I was at UConn and then when I rented a cottage on Coventry Lake I was there every week. Now I take the family every few months and hit up the UConn Dairy Bar on the scenic way home.

Hooters wings aren't that good but I suppose the scenery is better.
Bidwell makes a damn fine frozen mudslide as well....

For a few years back in my UCONN days, I lived two blocks from there. (Wall St.)
Had the bartenders trained to call with what was on the the free food menu for happy hour... Never missed the prime rib days.

Wonder how many times we sat in the same room together without knowing...?

Did you know Fred who owned the Bidwell Spirit Shop? Easily one of the top 3 liquor store owners in the history of liquor stores!

Probably quite a few times! With my then fiance/now wife, probably even more (she used to hang out there when I went to Patriots games). I rented a cottage from my grandfather on Springdale for a few years after college.

Bidwell was a great liquor store, I haven't been in there in years, though. A cut above my current local ones. I knew Fred pretty well. Great dude! Used to get 1/4 barrels, some good beers some not so much, from him on a fairly regular basis.

Fred actually delivered after closing to us. We were on his way home and he would just drop our 'fix' on his way home and ask us to stop in the next day and pay for it.

Most of my time in Coventry was spent on Wall St and at the end of Woods Lane, back past Bea's Country Kitchen.

Small world sometimes...

Bea's was one of my maternal grandfather's haunts. Back when we were kids; my brother, sister and used to spend a couple weeks and a bunch of weekends at my grandparents' place on the lake. My grandfather, despite being a pretty active outdoorsman, really enjoyed unhealthy food. So much so that by his late 60's he was told to drastically change his diet. We became his "enablers" since we were always the excuse for a walk down the hill to Bea's for a meal. It was like, "What happens at Bea's, stays at Bea's!"

Quite!

Seems like I may have spent more time than I ever realized with the extended Swamp family.... sometimes we are unaware of the blessings bestowed upon us. I can only imagine that I had a conversation or two with yer Grandpa if'n we were in the same time frame (I lived in Coventry from 87-93), as I have always been one to invade the codgers table at most any breakfast joint...

Probably a good time to share this little bit of small world as well... Week or so ago I was getting some parts off a parts 300D owned by my friend Jim, and I found this in his lot.

Seems he worked there for Bill Sr. a couple summers when he was a whippersnapper... Had nothing but fond memories.
As it turned out, a customer of his had purchased an old trailer from Hart's and was talking about how hot it was working on the inside during the summer months, which Jim replied was small potatoes compared to the times He spent in those trailers unloading bags of seed...
Guy agreed that mayhap hand loading 100# bags of seed could get a little hotter, so gave him the sign as a keepsake.
Then I spot the sign while collecting Mercedes parts... and we all go around in a circle...

btw... I would recommend Jim for anyone in the Eastern CT area who needs professional help with their Mercedes or other European car. He is an excellent and thorough mechanic and his shop (Willimantic Auto Works) has been in business for many years and has developed a kind of cult following.

I figured hijacking a McDonalds thread would be considered a public service...

Think I could get a government grant for it?

The other Bill would be my great grandfather, so that would be Bill -III(?). Word has it that his brother was the tyrant and they'd go at it all the time.

Don't let that sign get away! Not worth much other than its neatness but if it's wallowing away behind a barn snag it before it makes its way to the scrap yard.

Blame it on my ADHD. I haven't met a thread yet that I couldn't lose focus on and take off on a tangent.

Unicorns!

Nah. Just goes to show that true McD aficionados prefer macerated, formed and breaded chicken lips and @$$holes to pulling meat off of pesky bones.

Actually, I bet they could just run those McWings through a McWoodchipper and...voilą...McNuggets! I might be onto something here...
