Anyone Try the McD Wings?

Sandwich Monday: McDonald's Mighty Wings : The Salt : NPR

Chicken wing restaurants continue to pop up everywhere in this country — there are Wingstop, Buffalo Wild Wings, Aaron Sorkin's West Wings.

Funny . . . McNuggets with a choking hazard.

Not into "Red Wings" myself but they weren't that bad for what they are. Hooters are better in all ways. :D

I'm not much into natural so as long as they are perky, I'm there. When they get floppy my interest wanes. When they are so floppy that yeast grows, I'd run like hell. So yes, silicone is better than having enough yeast to make your home made bread.

My local watering hole has 25 cent wings that are some of the best I've ever had. Paying 5x as much for reheated and processed crap. Those pictures in the OP's link are nauseating.

Are you kidding? Do adults actually eat at macdonalds?

Skippy 10-01-2013 07:24 AM

@Larry: Generally no, but once in a while I'll get a quarter pounder there. The older items on the menu are generally still somewhat food-like. The newer ones I've tried usually taste like plastic. It's a shame, since I worked at McDonald's as a senior in high school (mid 90's), and at the time the food was actually still pretty good.

@everyone: No, I haven't tried the alleged wings at McDonalds, and I don't intend to. In college, I was a big fan of the wings from J.R. Cricket's on Spring St. in Atlanta (across the street from the Varsity) and haven't found anything else comparable.

I stopped eating at the golden arches after learning about pink slime. I stopped eating at a lot of places after that.

However, if I want wings, I wouldn't go to a burger joint...just like you wouldn't go to KFC for a pizza.

There isn't a decent wing joint in Western PA, but there is in Dayton, Ohio, so that will make the move a bit more easy on me. There's a place called Fricker's in Dayton that has some great breaded wings that are then sauced up to a wonderous level of bliss.

I pretty much prefer the wings we make at home...from a recipe using Frank's Red Hot sauce, melted margarine (oleo) and Kraft Honey BBQ. They're never too hot, always tasty, and we never seem to make enough of them. I've blasted through a 20lb bag of wings with the wife and kids (and their friends) and there's never any leftovers.

The best wings I ever had were in a Bar B Q place in Edmonton. Turns out the guy was from Oklahoma, just across the river from me and when we started talking, as a kid, he had hauled hay on my place for the previous owner. Small world.

Those wings were so hot, they should have been outlawed anywhere other than an establishment next door to a fire station.

Yeah I like Hooters also. What was this OP about?

Not if you paid me. Chipoltaway and Wegman's are the only faster foods I'll grab. Just feel like crap or need imodium if I stop at any of the others.

Taco Bell Roulette-will I make it home in time?

It is a pretty small world these days. That is kinda why I always watch my step. I met someone about an hour and a half away at a gas station and he knew who I was by the mods on my Excursion I described. I always watch the way I work with people for just that reason. The person you screwed over today might be your boss tomorrow. Like Scarface, I don't fawk anyone over that didn't have it coming.

That I would pass on. I can work with Hooter's wings if they are at the mildest settings. I don't care for spicy food. Just not my taste.

About the new menu in MdDonnalds. It isn't the greatest but under the class of fast food and the price you pay, what is it you expect?
