Tom Clancy dead at 66

This one caught me off-guard. I really enjoyed his writing.

With Putin's rise maybe they should check for radiation poisoning?

RIP, Tom, thanks for sharing your clever, detailed stories.

I love the guys works. Mostly pulp fiction but he tells a story like few others.

The Hunt for Red October and Sum of All Fears were favorite stories and both made into okay films.

I was a big fan of his until I saw him in an interview in which he referred to JFK very disrespectfully.

This is a better article from the BBC.

It includes a snippet from an interview where he was discussing a plotline where he had a pilot fly a passenger jet into the Capitol Building.

Interesting guy all the way around.

I didn't agree with his political views either...but he still wrote a damn good story.

Huge fan of his earlier works, less so of the later stuff. Two years ago got on a clancy kick and read all his books sequentially.

A man with a great talent, RIP
