any tips on passing kidney stones?

anyone have any tips on passing kidney stones? I have had a few bouts with them but my latest one which started Sat 2am is kicking my ass. The cat scan revealed a 2mm stone. Have been trying to flush it out with lots of liquids but to no avail. Any home remedies?

I connected with an Army buddy not long ago after more than 40 years. It turned out that he does some sort of procedure that actually breaks the stones into very small particles so they are easily passed in the urine. I don't know the name for it, but it should be easy to google. There are many facilities that do this and it is painless as I understand.

Very best of luck with it, whatever you do.

Analgesics help with the discomfort. Some docs may prescribe a narcotic for intense cases. The "sonic wave" treatment is generally reserved for severe cases.

I had that in the ER and it was the only thing that kept me from climbing the walls. Tried toradol first, nothing...zilch....nadda... Then came the dilaudid... It knocked me out but only after a second dose.

tart cherry juice, lots of it. Apple cider vinegar, mix a tablespoon with a glass of water and drink one every hour. The point is to acidify your pee to help soften the stones. Completely off the radar of mainstream docs.

LITHOTRIPSY

Potentially dangerous, however. Severe kidney damage possible.

I feel sorry for anyone afflicted with kidney stones.. Can be a real misery.

About three days ago scrunched my right testicle when fishing wires in an electrical update. At last the discomfort from that is backing off.

After one operation I was supposed to get a heavy narcotic pain killer. Well they forgot. I was in no pain but had to urinate. Was in a semi private room and the other guy was not in good shape.

When the urine stream started it was the worse pain I ever remember. Several thoughts went through my head. I wanted to scream for starters. Plus if I stopped the urine stream I knew I would have to do it again all too soon. So just kept it going.

When finished I could hardly walk. Truly the pain almost brought me to my knees. I never imagined such pain was possible until experiencing it. For those that have never experienced serious pain in the urinary tract you are very lucky.
