AFAIK a lot of people use it without reports of foaming.

Cold starts are very difficult when it is 10 degrees or worse and you don't have it plugged in. So if you think you are using the truck, you need to plan ahead.

I have a timer rigged up to run the heater for 3 hours before I leave in the morning. Only use it when really cold. I did try the 5w-40 Mobil1 at one time and it did help starting a bit.

Yes but my truck is not used daily so I don't want to hook it up. I want to be able to leave when I feel like it, hence the switch to 5W40
