Koch Bros come out against TP position?
Appears as though a battle may be brewing between the Wall St. and Tea Party wings of the Republican Party.

Well uhhh, I'm not wild about them frequently but they may be the voice of reason at this time, and for the audience that needs reaching.

I wouldn't call them the voice of reason. They've been supporting unreason for a long time. They are the voice of economic reason--they're own economic reason.

I hope this doesn't surprise anyone. As long as the us govt is handing out borrowed money like crazy and with such a huge portion disappearing due to corruption, OF COURSE the Kochs are against any group who wants to get spending to a responsible level. Duh.

Voice of reason as in "they support my reasonable position"? Seriously? Depending on the industry, they might or might not have an ax to grind. If I got no dog in this fight, WGAS? If I think I will come out ahead, I'll find you a reason to support it. If not, I also have a reason to oppose it. All it means is "This is the cheapest solution in my mind" and nothing to do with reason or care for you unless you are deluded. The Koch Brothers, like anyone, cares for THEMSELVES.

Depending on which way benefits them the most, of course. People are going to be people. What I can't figure out is why people think that pretty speeches mean the person believes what they are saying. As a rule, the better a person sounds, the more eloquent and persuasive you sound, the more I distrust you. In business, I avoid them if possible. In my personal life, I avoid them altogether. It comes back to the "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" thing. Or as my favorite Star Trek DS9 quote goes "48th Rule of Acquisition: The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife".

That is why W. Buffet is for this administration, and would benefit even more if our spending budget went from three and a half trillion to six trillion with or without any increase in revenue. Their hands are in so many industries that the more spending that happens the better for them.

Simple answer to the Koch Brothers . . . follow the money.
"The Exam" commercial featuring creepy Uncle Sam in woman's ob/gyn visit . . . produced by conservative group titled Generation Opportunity . . . which gets a lot of funding from . . . yeah, you know. |
