Furthermore, being barbaric refers more to how civilized people are treated, not how the UNCIVILIZED are treated.

Shoot a pedestrian, in the head, as a cop? Uncivililized, or barbaric.

Shoot a perp that's pointing a pistol at you? Smart, well-educated and CIVIL.

As for the medieval part? You're about 500-600 years too late to hang that on ANY country. You've heard of the Industrial Age? Industrial barbarism might be a bit more trendy, but I highly doubt it.

As for the "...abolishing the Death Penalty 120 years ago..." part, WGARA what Brazil did? That's part of the reason why you have flip-flop freaks on motorcyces riding around ripping off your ride with their pistol stuck in your face down in Brazil...or you're in Detroit or some other slum-hole in some Dog-Forsaken slum in American...where no DECENT person would go on a bet.

Remove the penalty? Then you get to collect them all. How do you pay for that? Tax the hell out of anyone that really works for a living. Then, some day, they stick a pistol in your face and you'll wonder why they're still running around.

The cop shot to defend himself, he didn't end up killing. A good thing in my book. A large portion of European countries abolished the death penalty (or at least used it very sparingly) in the early 1900s. I don't see them as crime-ridden pestholes.
