Went to a Nascar race this past weekend...

And surprisingly had a decent time!

VID_20131012_214437_zps69c253f3.mp4 Video by justinwrock | Photobucket

I believe the race I watched is called the Nascar K&N series.

The cars are loud as he!! though! It's a nice deep roar compared, which isn't as bad as the high pitch scream of the F1/Indy cars I have seen. Not a bad race, but was shocked at the amount of contact the cars had - especially for a race that is usually supposed to be no-contact!

Do have to say though, I was happy the beer was flowing! Definitely made the race that-much-more enjoyable!

Just went to Loudon NH for a cup series race a couple weeks ago.
Got a few comp pit passes.
Was very interesting to be in the garage with the cars, watching them go through inspection, and then watching the race from in the pits.
Up that close it becomes obvious how hard all those drivers are digging every lap.
Anyone who thinks it's just a bunch of easy left turns is ignorant of what it takes to get that much steel around the track at those speeds.

Loudon has to be the most boring venue they run. Turns are small radius and narrow so no passing there. Typically whoever is on the pole stays there until mixed up by pit stops.

The cars are loud as he!! though!

Wait until you attend a Top Fuel drag race. Sound levels approach 160 decibels.

Closest one to me...

Would rather go to Martinsville.

I got the wife interested in the sport so she wouldn't hassle me if I wanted to lay on the couch and watch a race. Then she became a bigger fan than I. She loved Earnhardt.

We live about 100 miles from Charlotte so we have been to several Cup races. Charlotte, Darlington, Talledega and then Daytona the day Earnhardt died.

I'll never forget walking to our car after the race still listening to the MRN feed (the broadcasters talk among themselves during commercials) on my headphones. I was happy as can be because I had just that morning declared I was pulling for Mikey Waltrip and he won his first Cup race that day. Eli Gold was the closest to turn 4 and he said, "Guys, they're cuting the roof off of Dale's car." That's the first moment I knew it wasn't good. She's never watched a single race since that day.
