If the Lawyers are working for part of the Award from the Law Suit it may or may not be cheaper to let Her go.
A Jury may side with Her.
If She Wins it sets a Legal Precedence and Lowe's would not be able to instruct keep their Employees from intervening in the event of a Theft and opening them up to other Law Suits.
My guess is Lowe's will settle to avoid a Legal Precedence from being created.
The other possibility is that there is already a Legal Precedence or one close to this particular incident.
