I've heard good things about it. And Toyota engines do have a reputation for durability. I reckon I should first at least DRIVE a Supra before I get too carried away.

Toyota JZ engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My ultimate stupid project, well there are a few others, would be to put this engine tuned to a mere 300 hp into an Austin Healy kit:

Sebring MX- Classic Roadsters

Just about every engine has been swapped into a Miata at this point, there are a bunch of LSx powered ones floating around too

I remember long ago an older gent talking about the rise of Japans car industry ,he patterned how many of their engineers would improve existing designs of motors from counterparts from home and abroad.A real interesting point he made was how the 2.3 16v 190e was graded for its output vs displacement ,a cosworth head type design was on most production cars of the 90s. due to Japans rules on 4 ,6 ,8 cylinder cars ,you would pay a higher road tax driving behind a performance car, smog is another reason they ride the tax payer.

Meh...nothing to write home about. If anything, that seems like a pretty dumb conversion, given the bimmer straight 6ers from the period are farily stout. The e30 could accept a m30 with little modification, and it would be a tasteful upgrade when it comes time to sell. I might've considered this a good conversion if it was done in a 540i wagon.
