Can anyone tell me what truck is in this picture?

I was reading about David a Johnston the geologist that died during the eruption of Mt St Helens, I saw his picture and then noticed his truck... which I really really like the look of but cant figure out what it is, because it's not really in the frame.. Can anyone help me out with what truck it is?

yes, it looks like such a tuff, rugged machine.. I've been looking into getting a 4x4 truck because I'm always out in the desert and I can't take me 91 300E very far on the sand (I've tried ) and I just really like the look of these, I think I might have found a winner!

The newest one is over 30 years old. Try a Nissan Xterra instead.

Lately I noticed a lot of Bronco's on the road, rarely do I see a Scout II.

You know, I've never liked the look of the Xterra, it just screams wannabe LR Discovery and that bulge from the first air kit on the rear lift gate is an eye sore..

It's something about those old 60-80's model trucks (for me) that is just...awesome. that old rugged all in your face, nothing pretty about it type of "personality" they give off... Less is more for me in this case... The Diesel model would be amazing, but since they were only made one year, I imagine that's a way sellers skyrocket the price..

LOL I think I've only ever seen "a Scout" and I'm guessing it was one too... Tend to see lots of Bronco's as well... Which would be okay too I guess, but the Scout makes me look twice, I love those thin wheels he has on in the pictures, which I imagine are stock... Instead of seeing HUGE monster truck wheels..
