Diesel misconceptions
Well I tried to stick up for the good old diesel on the other site that I frequent. Take a look at what some people thought about them.

What an ignorant JerkOff!

LOL :) HAHAHAHA
I love cars, be it diesel or gas. I'd prefer to have a gas 280CE *though it probably won't last as long*. However, I do not see anything bad about diesels. Except for small vibrations. Of course my diesel is almost 20 yrs old. The new diesels are awesome. My first diesel encounter was a Toyota Land Cruiser 4.2L Turbodiesel. That thing was awesome and sold like hot cakes in Jakarta because diesel is so much cheaper than the cheapest leaded gas. (unleaded premium costs a lot more) I loved diesel as soon as I tried that truck. They use E250's and E300 Turbo in Singapore as cabs. They are so powerful (the 300 Turbo especially), that they are faster than the mainstream E-Class there (E200... ugh). Leave 'em be (ignorants) Interesting board. very amusing... and VERY NICE cars! :) |
Yeah I hope to have my Honda looking decent by the summer. I keep the 500SEL for power, and it's kind of a sleeper. Who would think a rusty Benz is fast? :)

Is your Civic the seventh generation? (2001 I presume it is)
Stick or Auto? I like the design of both the Coupe and the sedan, the coupe especially. The new Civic Type-R is ugly, I wonder why they didn't just design it on the current Civic platform... The interior really isn't a Mercedes, however it never really pretended to be one.. With cars like the Civic I'd probably upgrade the wheels (some nice 16/17", nothing crazy), probably weld a nicer exhaust tip, and definitely some interior work or rather.. a lot of interior work.. :D |
It's an auto sedan, a 2001. Actually the interior isn't that bad. I am considering installing a two tone leather interior. Or I might just get some racing seats.
It's true that I'm most comfortable in my car and my parents car. I actually like the design of the new Civic Type R. I even like the design of the Civic Si which is what the US gets. Hopefully they will bring over the Type R at some point. I would put my deposit on that right away.:) |
(Begin rant...)
That's why diesel passenger cars are so uncommon and looked down-upon in the US right now...Pure ignorance and widespread misinformation, largely circulated by enviro-nazis and whining liberals with selfish agendas. Idiots everywhere. (End of rant...) Mike |
Mike, I agree with you that whiney enviro-nazi liberals tend to spread a fear of diesels. I just do not understand why they do it.
I am a self-proclaimed whiney enviro-nazi liberal myself. That is why I am so strongly in favor of diesels. Diesel engines last longer, therefore diesel cars usually last longer. This means that less resources will be used to build new cars, and less waste will be buried in landfills. Additionally, the economy provided by diesel engines means that less of our non-renewable fossil fuel will be consumed. Diesel exhaust may have more particulate matter than gasoline exhaust, but it has less of the ozone-destroying chemicals. Why would a tree-hugging left-wing liberal like me want anything else? |
WOW! It's not often I hear a liberal make any sense whatsoever!!!! :D It's refreshing to hear from a "logical liberal" like yourself!
:) Mike |
Mike, it's not often that I hear a conservative (or sometimes even a liberal) saying something that I agree with, let alone something that I strongly support. I'm glad we can agree on this.
